Animations can be made fairly easily with slides. Create a slide, duplicate the slide, then add items or move items just a little bit. Then repeat...a lot. The number of slides you will need will depend on the complexity of the animation and the amount of content that will be conveyed. Teachers could create animations for instruction. Students could create animations to show their learning.

This animation is about 150 slides and only took about 15 minutes to create. After it is created, it can be screencasted to create a movie or an animated GIF.
Each item is aded to a slide. The slide is then duplicated and the item(s) are moved slightly. The process is repeated until you have the results you want.
