This example of a reading log allows students to keep track of their reading goals. The cells in the "Pages Read" column are conditionally formatted to change color based on the target goal of 20 pages per day. (Of course the goal could be changed to minutes, chapters, or whatever you choose.) . This is a nice visual for students and teachers to quickly see if student is on track. The last two columns are more for journaling and the column headings can be adjusted as needed as well. To extend the activity and get students understanding Google Sheets a little more, the second tab called "Results Per Book" has the students using the data from the first sheet to create graphs and add another level of visualization to the data being collected.
